About the Owners of Champion Transportation:

Craig and Donna McDaniel are native Kansas Citians. They met as teachers at Bishop Lillis High School. Craig’s father was in the last regiment of Buffalo Soldiers in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Donna’s parents emigrated to KC from France. 

Craig has worked for Rockhurst University, Lillis High School, Pepsi Cola, Mid-Continent Bottlers, and other sales organizations. In fact, when you see the “Pepsi Express” trucks driving around, know that as the warehouse manager, he created the wrapped pallets concept for a safer and more efficient transport process.

Donna has worked in the field of education for 24 years as a teacher, coach and administrator. She has also worked for the Kansas City Missouri Police Department (KCPD) as a personnel specialist. She has written policy for the KCPD and created programs in education, such as “The In Lieu of Suspension Program,” that has been presented nationally.

Craig decided to start his own business in 2001 and created Champion Transportation. The name represents their love of sports and their background in coaching and athletics. Donna chose to join him in business immediately, and the adventure began.

The business has grown exponentially each year without advertising. It has expanded because of excellent customer service, word of mouth referrals, and our philosophy, “ Treat others the way we would want to be treated.”
